WANTED MATCH OF WORLD CUP 2011 "PAKISATN VS INDIA"
INDIA vs PAKISTAN MATCH. What more can the cricketing world ask for? The event was important to everyone whether they have interst in cricket or not. This match was getting maximum media coverage, attention and publicity than any biggest Bollywood blockbuster. India got it’s advantage to play on home ground and majority of supporters where as pakistani team was truely sure about their victory and entry in worldcup final.
On 30 MAR, life in both the countries and others cricketing nations bacame standstill, business stopped and all roads were seen with out traffic because millions of people were gathered arounf TV sets to watch the epic clash of PAKISTAN AND INDIA.It was like TSUNAMI on the cricket field.
I decided to watch the match at home with my family on a big flat screen, before the starting of the match I recite quran verses with a wish that pakistan will win this match . In fact i did not want to leave the Tv screen for a second so i kept all food stuff with me.
On every ball i was praying for Pakistan victory... though Pakistani team had a reach able target but they could not make it. We lost the match...!!!!. But i would say so what if we lost ...we can win in the next world cup .....INSHALLAH

LADIES MELA IN JINNAH UNIVERSITY FOR WOMEN
The glittery sparkling MELA held in Jinnah University of Women on Saturday, 26 February,2011, Karachi. Since the beginning the mela had very quick and effective response girls seemed very happy with stalls arranged by different departments.The stall by Efroze Pharma was center of attention for girls because they were discussing the women problems, told them how to celebrate and make your special days memorable. The visiting girls were freely asking their queries related to the issues they faced in their daily routine life and the visitors were presented with Efrodol goody bags which actually made girls more happy. Efrodol team also organised the lucky draw in which the winners had special gifts.
The face painting and mehndi stalls by mass communication 3rd year grabbed a lot of attention almost every girl had face painting on their faces and on mehndi stall girls were waiting for their turns. The new first year batch of mass communication department highlighted themselves by wearing t- shirts with the logo of MASS COMMUNICATION.
The SAMA TV and DUNYA news channel came to do the coverage of the mela, they also asked question about Earth hour day that either we should celebrate this day or not. Majority said we should not celebrate this day when KESC already celebrating it for 3 hours everyday.
The food stalls were amazing specially the pani pori and spaghtetti, the samosaz were also very delicious but i loved the pani pori and spaghetti. I just could not stop myself from buying again and agian when i started having pani pori. Suits, bedsheets and other stuff related to household sold out there with discount many girls were observed buying suits for themselve, for family and friends.Swings placed there was the another source of fun and enjoyment for the girls in mela.
Around 5000 girls visited the mela and saved memorable memories to remember as unforgettable memories. At the end of the days stalls were shut down. visitors left for their homes with a thought that i had a lot of fun!

MID TERM FEVER
The new mid term fever have started in JUW, The papers are going to be started from 7th march till 15 march even the schedule is been announced.
All the students are now busy in making notes and some are busy in borrowing notes. Hunger of gaining marks is on peak. "YAR BUS 10 HI AJAI" said Hira student of mass communication department.
This vibe is creating tension among students that what will happen in exam and how much they will score in exam.

RAITA PANCH RUPAY
This is the latest amendment in the rules of canteen of Jinnah University that you will not get Raita on Biryani until you pay five rupees. The high price and law quality food stuff in canteen has been a debatable topic among students of Jinnah University. All food items are selling on high price. Tables are arranged near the uncovered sewerage line and the green shelters in cafeteria are torn.
RAILWAY BOMB BLAST
KARACHI: 15 dead and 25 were injured in a railway bomb blast at Karachi City station on Thursday, 10 February 2011.
The bomb was fixed between the track right in front of the plat form as the train passed the bomb blew up, injured were immediately sent to the nearest hospital, sources said. Chief justice Iftikhar Chaudary said;”The culprit will be caught as soon as possible”.

CITIZEN JOURNALISM !
In Jinnah University for Women on Saturday, January 29th, 2011, a lecture was held to spread the awareness about the need of citizen journalism in the society. This extended lecture was held by the department of mass communication. The Team from Dawn News came in to give the lecture on “Citizen Journalism”
Mr. Owais Mangalwala, producer and anchor in Dawn News arrived along with his team members to tell the need of citizen Journalism in our society. He fully described the basic concept of citizen journalism while giving us the ideas on how to become a citizen journalist he stated that “Everyday we go through different phase of life and every individual among us carry different way out of every problem.” We encourage those who share their amazing, extraordinary stories where the camera can not reach.
He further discussed the most important point which are needed to be focused to become a citizen journalist and also about career opportunities for a citizen journalist in his channel.
While giving these pieces of knowledge he was also answering the student’s questions with that activity he also emphasizes to differentiate between news and noise. He said that citizen journalism can be done by single person or by group of people.
He also show his channel as platform for mass communication students to reveal unusual stories happening DAWN news also said they are giving us an official platform to show our talent with a name “Citizen Journalism”
The guest finished up his lecture by the opinion poll from DAWN NEWS on their newly started morning show with “Mast Morning with Maira”.
